Drafted out of high school by the Boston Bruins in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Bob Sweeney went on to play four years at Boston College. He made his NHL debut with the Bruins in 1986-87 and spent six years with the club, before moving on to the Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, and Calgary Flames. The 1987–88 season was Sweeney's first full year, a season during Boston traveled to the Stanley Cup Finals. Bob scored 125 career goals in the NHL before traveling across the Atlantic to play in the German Elite League from 1997 until 2001. He is now an executive in the Boston Bruins organization.
