Tom Coughlin is a 35-year veteran of football coaching. He is best known for his remarkable 8 year run as head coach of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. Under Coughlin's brilliant leadership, the Jaguars were the most successful expansion team in NFL history. Twice in their first five seasons, the Jags appeared in the AFC Championship game. In 1999, Jacksonville had the best record in the NFL at 14-2. Known as an offensive mastermind, Coughlin's Jaguars led the NFL in both passing yards (4,367 in 1996) and rushing yards (2,091 in 1999). Tom's arrival in Jacksonville followed three seasons (1991-93) as head coach at Boston College, where he turned a struggling football program into a Top 20 team. Posting a 21-13-1 record, Coughlin capped his BC tenure with a 9-3 record in 1993, which included a victory over number-one ranked Notre Dame, and a number twelve ranking in the final USA Today coaches poll.
